  6. Completing the foundation of insurance

  10. Approaching retirement
  11. At retirement

    Everything You Need To KNOW

    1. You should have these things done.
      • A clear understanding of your spending.
      • What income is coming in and when.
      • DC pensions should be known and if possible, consolidated.
      • All other, non-pension investments, collected together and simplified to the extent that you are comfortable.
      • Decide how involved we want to be in terms of ongoing investment management.
      • Moved the first couple of years’ spending needs into cash.
    2. Switch from saving to spending.
    3. Investing should be different in retirement.



    Everything You Need To DO

    1. Work out your tax position for the first five years.
    2. Make sure the cash is in the right place.
    3. Take a view on income vs capital withdrawal.
    4. Build a cashflow ladder.

We’ll sort them and try to answer as many as we can, but likely we’ll pull out themes and deal with them. If the outline we’ve gone over today raises any questions, get them in now – we can also answer them as we go along. If we get tons of Qs we can always do two Q&A sessions.
