We’re going back to first principles, looking deep into the fundamentals of personal finance success. And if we're going to do that, then we’d better start by defining what personal finance success actually is. Not an easy task, but I’ve never yet shied away from a challenge on this show!

This podcast is brought to you with the help of Seven Investment Management, who specialise in multi-asset investing, something I talk about a lot, and which I think should form the core of most people’s investments. 7IM have been helping me out here on MeaningfulMoney for ages, and I'm very grateful.

Defining Wealth
As I’ve said many times on this show, the problem, if you want to call it that, with personal financial success is that it takes so long, at least it usually does. But that’s actually a good thing, because rapid wealth-creation from a lottery win, or the wages of an 18-year-old football prodigy, so often ends badly.
But because it takes so long, it can be hard to look far into the future with any kind of clarity. That means that when defining financial success, we’re login to be using some generalisations, which you then need to apply to your specific situation.
Hmmm. This might be harder than I thought – we’ll see.
